– Current standard: The latest version is DIN 580:2024-05 (published in 2024), which replaces the previous DIN 580:2010 and DIN 580:2018. The new version updates the normative reference documents, technical delivery conditions, and adds dimension legends and annexes related to the EU Machinery Directive (2006/42/EG).
– Scope of application: It specifies the performance requirements of steel and stainless steel eyebolts, suitable for temperature environments from -20℃ to +200℃, and is mainly used for lifting equipment or mechanical fixing points with vertical or angular loads.
-Material type:
– Carbon steel: such as C15E, surface treatment includes galvanizing and blue passivation, suitable for general industrial scenarios.
– Stainless steel: divided into three categories: austenite (such as A2, A4), ferrite, and martensite, of which austenitic steel accounts for more than 90%. A2/A4 stainless steel has strong corrosion resistance and is often used in harsh environments.
– Strength grade:
– Low strength: Made by bending rods, suitable for axial loads only.
– High strength: Forged head with a strong shoulder, can withstand off-axis loads, suitable for multi-leg sling systems.
Thread size: Covers a variety of specifications from M8 to M100, some models such as M42, M48, M56, etc. need to refer to the standard table.
–
– Load capacity: The working tension of different specifications ranges from 0.4T to 30T
– Installation guidelines:
– The bolts must be fully screwed in to ensure that the contact surfaces are fitted, the thread lengths must be equal and the base material strengths must match.
– It must be installed vertically on a flat surface to avoid contact with sharp objects, and safety inspections must be performed regularly.
– Test requirements: must pass tensile test (2.5 times working load test) and fatigue test (20,000 cycles under 1.5 times load), in compliance with international standards such as ASME B30.26.
—
– Industrial scenarios: ports, power, shipbuilding, petrochemicals, mining, aerospace, etc., used to connect cranes, slings or fixed equipment.
– Special treatment: Some products use CORRUD-DT surface treatment, which has 20 times higher anti-corrosion performance than ordinary galvanizing, and is suitable for highly corrosive environments such as marine engineering.
